We are the Kent North West Branch of the RSPCA and we welcome you to our website.
Our Branch covers an area from Welling in the west to Gravesend in the east out to Swanley & Meopham in the south with the Thames as our boundary in the north. In terms of postcode areas; we deal with all DA and BR8 postcodes.
The aims of the Branch are to promote the welfare of animals within the North West Kent area, to assist with the cost of providing veterinary care to animals whose owners are on benefits or low income and to neuter and microchip animals. We receive no Government funding for the work that we do, and all that we achieve is purely through the help of our volunteers, our own fundraising activities, two charity shops in Dartford and Gravesend and donations and legacies we receive from the public.
The Branch Committee, currently consisting of a Chairman, Secretary and a number of other Trustees, is responsible for the overall management of the Charity including full financial control.
The Branch Committee adheres to operational guidelines set out by the National Society but has full control over the day-to-day running of the Branch. We have strong ties with the RSPCA Inspectorate in our area and help in any way we possibly can with the valuable work this group carries out.
Please note that the Branch does not have any authority to investigate cases of ill treatment of animals or to take any action in such cases and this work is undertaken by the Inspectorate of the RSPCA with whom the Branch has a close working relationship with.
All cases of animal cruelty should be reported to the RSPCA Cruelty line on 0300 123 4999.
Contact to various service areas of the Branch can be made by telephoning 01322 286720.
