Volunteer With Us

Volunteering is a great way to make friends, gain experience and boost your confidence. We work in the heart of our community and have a loyal base of supporters and members that you will have the opportunity to interact with.

We do not discriminate against any group and will accommodate your needs wherever possible. You can do as much or as little as you want to.

We are currently looking for extra support in the following areas. Should you wish to receive further information about one of our roles, please contact us and a member of the Branch Committee will be in touch.

Whatever role you choose to take on, you will gain valuable experience, make friends, and most importantly, have fun!

Volunteers to help in our Dartford shop

Our vibrant charity shop in Dartford, just across from the Library, is in need of your support. The whole shop is 100% run by volunteers so you will be able to have a real impact on our fundraising efforts on behalf of animals in the local area.

No previous experience is required and training will be provided.

If you would like to help out, please pop in to the shop or call 01322 279177.

Volunteers to help in our Gravesend shop

We are also in desperate need of volunteers for our shop in Gravesend town center. You will have the chance to be part of a very diverse team with opportunities to gain confidence and develop your customer service skills, as well as to make friends and have fun.

No previous experience is required and training will be provided.

If you would like to help out, please pop in to the shop or call 01474 533144.

Volunteers to distribute leaflets in target areas

Depending on our current priorities and campaigns, we may be looking to distribute leaflets or put up posters in target areas to raise awareness of what we are doing.

As well as this, we are in need of a person to contact local shops and businesses to ask them if they can place one of our collection boxes inside their premises.

Volunteers to carry out home visits

How would you like to help check homes before our animals are placed in care?

It is the policy of the RSPCA to ensure that the homes of prospective animal owners are checked for suitability.

This is a very rewarding opportunity as you will directly be making sure that our vulnerable animals are going to safe and caring homes.

A full training program will be provided and you can be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.

If you feel that you are able to help call us on our helpline 01322 286720 and select option 3.

We will give you all the information that you need and arrange for you to be placed on our next training course.
