Our Team.

Our Branch is overseen by a Committee of Trustees who are responsible for setting the direction and priorities and ensuring the long term success of the Branch and setting our Strategic Plan. 

Our small team of staff is made up of;

  • Part time Branch Manager, Becky Blackmore
  • Full time Shop Manager at our Gravesend Charity Shop – Val Oakman
  • Part time Animal Welfare, Community Engagement and Education Officer (ACE) – Emma Byrne.

Volunteers are key to everything we do and none more so than John Bowley, who has worked endless hours every week for many decades as our Animal Welfare Administrator. A team of experienced volunteers also lead our Dartford Charity Shop and of course both Charity Shops rely every single day on our teams of volunteers.

You will see Emma driving round our Branch area in her RSPCA van. Emma Byrne joined our Branch in the July 2022 so we can do even more for animals. She has 20 years experience with the RSPCA and is already making a difference in our area.

Emma’s role is to assist the local community with animal issues including our busy veterinary practices, local authorities and local animal welfare groups. Emma is also very keen to visit schools, clubs and other groups to give informative talks on various animal welfare issues. Our Charity Shop Leaders

Our Charity Shops represent amazing team efforts from each and every member of staff and volunteer. If you are interested in finding out more than talk to  Val – Full time Manager at Gravesend Shop or Hilarie, Norma or Joan who lead the team at the Dartford Shop.

Becky Blackmore

Branch Manager

Becky joined us after 15 years working at the national RSPCA. Her toughest ever job was Head of Kennels at Battersea Dogs Home and she also worked for a Charity for retired greyhounds. Although dogs are her favourite animal she loves the fact that the RSPCA is here for ALL ANIMALS!
