The type of animal that we are asked to help with the most often is the CAT. Last year we had to take on responsibility for 121 cats. Many of these were rescued by the local RSPCA Inspectors having been neglected, abandoned or cruelly treated. The other most common way that cats come into our care is if they end up sick or injured (such as hit by a car) and at a local vets and no owner can be found. In both these situations we step in, cover veterinary costs and ensure that the cat is cared for and then rehomed. As you can imagine, these cats often have complex veterinary or behavioural needs. We find a way and work with lots of vets and rehoming centres. We also helped 136 cat owners in financial need with vet bills including neutering. Below are some of the cats that came into our care in 2022.
